Painting and Rio Celeste

The following post features student writing.

Today was not quite normal. Besides the gallo pinto, waking up early, going to the house, taking a break for lunch, repello, and playing games at night until the sounds of the latest rapper put us to sleep, today wasn’t quite normal. There was a fascinating thing that will blow your mind: PAINT. For once, repello would not be the word of the day. Painting, on the other hand, would be an experience that would truly expose our artistic prowess or lack thereof, and an experience that would have its pitfalls and glorious triumphs. At first, there were a lot more of the pitfalls, but I soon had it down to an art. I moved the paintbrush across the repello-covered walls and moved it with the grace of an eagle in full flight, swirling the brown and peach across the board. With increasing accuracy, every beam and wall on the outside was painted, and soon most of the church was in peach and brown glory.

After the English class we went to the local river, Rio Celeste, and swam in its cool, refreshing, cascading water. The blue water had small rapids that carried you down the river and soothed your mind. At the bottom of the river it was mostly sand so that you could be in control at all times. Overall the water was a great getaway from the hard work during the day and was very refreshing swimming in its stunning waters.

Hasta luego,

Sean & David
